To Doug Schneider,

I read your reviews all the time and would like some additional input on the Music Culture RL21 speakers you reviewed a few months ago.

I am looking for a great pair of stand-mounts. I have recently looked at Dynaudio Focus 160s and had somewhat decided to go that direction until I read your RL21 review. I did find a few other reviews about the RL21 and now my curiosity is piqued. How would you rate it against the Focus 160 or similarly priced speakers (B&W PM1, Revel Performa M22, KEF LS50, or the floorstanding Vienna Acoustics Baby Grand)? How would you compare them to, say, the Dynaudio Confidence C1 or Joseph Audio Pulsar?

I want to make sure I am spending my money wisely (hard to come by). I look for tonality, soundstage width and depth, and a holographic presentation when listening. Any thoughts and opinions would be greatly appreciated!

It’s really impossible for me to say how the RL21 would compare against all the speakers you mentioned because they’re all very good in their own ways, plus their prices vary quite a bit. What I can tell you is that the Music Culture RL21 can perform alongside the best of them, which is one of the reasons I was so impressed with it. So if you’re looking to spend your money wisely, simply make sure it’s on your list. I certainly don't blame you for being careful.

But if you are truly looking for tonality, soundstage width and depth, and a holographic presentation, seek out the Aurelia XO Cerica as well, which I just reviewed. The speaker is a little expensive for a stand-mounted design and it's tough to find, but the pair set new standards for soundstage size and image specificity when I had them in my room. Frankly, I was floored, because in those areas they outclassed everything I've heard. . . . Doug Schneider
