EISA, the Expert Imaging and Sound Association, owes its origins to a collaboration between editors of five European photography magazines, in 1982, to designate a camera model as the best of that year. EISA has since broadened its purview to encompass several additional domains, spanning a wide range of consumer products: hi-fi, home-theater audio, home-theater display & video, in-car electronics, and mobile devices. As EISA continued to evolve, it has expanded geographically too, becoming a global group of approximately 60 member publications from nearly 30 countries.
SoundStage! Hi-Fi became a member of EISA, within the Hi-Fi subgroup, in May 2018. EISA membership entitles a publication to nominate products in its category for EISA’s Best Product awards and participate in the voting for these awards. Members are required to have first-hand experience with products they nominate or vote for. It’s important to know that a product can be nominated, and designated winner, in more than one subgroup. This does happen some years; it did this year.
In the 2024–25 award season—EISA always presents its awards for the current year and into the next—77 products earned EISA awards, of which 30 were from the Hi-Fi and Home Theater Audio subgroups. We extend our congratulations to all winners and to EISA, too, for another successful year.
